Most issues with Snowball can be resolved quickly without contacting support. This page covers the most common problems and how to fix them on your own. Find the issue that matches what you’re experiencing and follow the steps to resolve it.
Double-check that you’re entering the correct email address and password. Make sure caps lock is not on. If you’ve forgotten your password, use the forgot password flow to reset it — see Reset or Change Your Snowball Password for instructions.
Check your spam or junk folder, as reset emails sometimes get filtered. Confirm you entered the email address that’s registered with your Snowball account. If a few minutes have passed and the email still hasn’t arrived, return to the forgot password page and request a new code — the previous code may have expired.
Review the following to find the source of the discrepancy:
  • Make sure all debt balances reflect your most recent statement.
  • Confirm that interest rates are entered as a percentage (for example, 19.99, not 0.1999).
  • Verify that minimum payments are set to the correct amounts.
Correcting any of these values will cause Snowball to recalculate your timeline automatically.
Check which strategy is currently active on your dashboard. The debt snowball method orders debts from smallest balance to largest; the debt avalanche method orders them from highest interest rate to lowest. If you’re seeing the wrong order, confirm you have the intended strategy selected.
Mark the debt as paid off, or update the balance to $0 and remove it from your list. For help managing your debts, see Adding and Managing Debts.
Try the following steps in order:
  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Clear your browser cache and reload.
  3. Try opening the app in a different browser.
  4. Check that your internet connection is working.
Re-add the debt manually using the information from your latest statement. See Adding and Managing Debts for a step-by-step guide.
